Print

The print and printer icons are visually similar. The printer icon first appeared as a part of the Xerox Alto icon set.

Usually the printer icon that refers to printer settings and administration is larger in size and the icon for the print command is smaller and visually more simplified. Likewise it is strongly connected to the context where it is placed, whether it is in the tool bar of a text editing software or the system settings of an operating system. The sample shown here is from the Xerox Star.
